What Recipe Notes Adds to Reminders

With access on, open Settings → Recipes & Planning → Meal Plan & Groceries in Recipe Notes and turn on Sync to Reminders. Your grocery list then appears in the iOS Reminders app.

  • Recipe Notes creates a separate list named "Recipe Notes", so your other lists stay unchanged.
  • Each grocery item becomes one reminder. The recipe name appears in brackets before the item, for example "[Banana Bread] 3 ripe bananas".
  • When you remove a recipe from your grocery list, or clear the whole list, Recipe Notes removes the matching reminders. If you delete a single item, delete its reminder in the Reminders app too.

This is useful when you shop with Siri or check items off on an Apple Watch.

Troubleshooting

  • "Reminders" is missing from the Recipe Notes settings page. In Recipe Notes, open Settings → Recipes & Planning → Meal Plan & Groceries and turn on Sync to Reminders once. iOS shows the setting only after the app asks for access.
  • The list does not appear. Open the Reminders app and scroll to My Lists. If you use iCloud, check that Reminders is turned on under Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
  • You want to stop syncing. Turn off Sync to Reminders in Recipe Notes, or turn off Reminders access in iOS Settings.
