How to Smart Merge Your Grocery List in Recipe Notes

Automatically combine duplicate ingredients from multiple recipes into a single organized grocery list with Smart Merge.

How to Smart Merge Your Grocery List

When you add ingredients to Groceries in Recipe Notes, they are grouped by recipe name by default. With the Smart Merge feature, you can automatically combine ingredients from different recipes into a single, organized list.

For example, if Recipe A calls for 150g of flour and Recipe B calls for 200g of flour, Smart Merge will combine them into a single entry — 350g of flour — and automatically sort it into the appropriate category like "Produce." This makes shopping much easier.

How to Use Smart Merge

Simply tap the Smart Merge button in the top-left corner of the Groceries page.

Tap Smart Merge in the top-left corner of the Groceries page

After a few seconds, all your ingredients will be automatically merged and organized:

Switching Back to the Original View

If you'd like to switch back, simply tap the Original button in the top-left corner to return to the default recipe-grouped format.

Good to Know

If you add new items to your Groceries after merging, you'll need to tap Smart Merge again to include them in the merged view.
