Ayran

A refreshing Turkish yogurt drink made by blending plain yogurt with cold water and seasoning with salt. Optionally garnished with dried mint for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint plain yogurt
  • 1 pint cold water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 tablespoons crushed dried mint
  • dried mint

Cooking Instructions

    Pour yogurt into a bowl and beat until smooth, add water and continue beating until thoroughly blended, or combine in an electric blender and blend until smooth. Season to taste with salt and dried mint. Chill thoroughly and serve in tall glasses, with ice.
