Haroseth (Dried Fruit and Nut Paste)

A traditional sweet paste made from toasted nuts, dried fruits, and aromatic spices, commonly served during Passover. This mixture combines walnuts, almonds, dried apples, and apricots with warming spices and Port wine for a rich, complex flavor.

Ingredients

  • •¾ cup walnuts
  • •¾ cup almonds
  • •1 cup dried apples
  • •⅔ cup Turkish apricots
  • •2 strips orange zest
  • •½ teaspoon allspice
  • •½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • •½ cup ruby Port
  • •½ cup golden raisins

Cooking Instructions

    Pulse toasted nuts in a food processor until coarsely chopped.

    Add dried fruit, zest, and spices and pulse again until chopped.

    Add Port and pulse until all ingredients are chopped and combined into a coarse paste.

    Transfer to a bowl and stir in raisins.
