Avocado-Alfalfa Turkey Burger

A healthy and flavorful turkey burger topped with creamy avocado, fresh alfalfa sprouts, and a unique pomegranate-ketchup sauce. Served on whole wheat buns with melted Monterey Jack cheese and fresh tomatoes.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • 1 whole Hass avocado
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 spray Vegetable-oil cooking spray
  • 4 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 whole vine-ripened tomatoes
  • 4 ounces alfalfa sprouts
  • 4 whole whole-wheat hamburger buns
  • toasted

Cooking Instructions

    In a bowl, combine ketchup and molasses; season with salt and pepper. In another bowl, crush avocado with juice; season with salt. Form turkey into four patties. Coat a grill pan or grill rack with cooking spray. Grill patties over medium-high heat until internal temperature reaches 165°F, 20 minutes. Top each with 1 cheese slice. Divide ketchup mixture, burgers, tomatoes, avocado mixture and alfalfa sprouts among buns.
