Peaches in Ginger Syrup

Fresh peaches poached in a fragrant syrup made with white wine, ginger, and sugar. The fruit is brightened with lemon juice and gently infused with warm spicy notes from the ginger.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup dry white wine
  • ¾ cup water
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ piece fresh ginger
  • ¾ pound peaches
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

Cooking Instructions

    Simmer wine, water, sugar, and ginger, stirring occasionally, until reduced to about 3/4 cup, about 15 minutes.
