Slow Cooker Veggie-Loaded Marinara

A hearty homemade marinara sauce packed with fresh vegetables and herbs, slowly simmered to perfection in a slow cooker. This sauce combines carrots, celery, onions, and bell peppers with crushed tomatoes and aromatic herbs for a flavorful and nutritious pasta sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole carrots
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 1 whole yellow onion
  • 1 whole red bell pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 containers whole peeled tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 whole bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ cup fresh basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon freshly cracked pepper
