Salmon Tartare

A fresh and elegant appetizer featuring diced raw salmon mixed with crisp cucumber, aromatic herbs, and Asian-inspired seasonings. This vibrant tartare combines fresh citrus, herbs, and gentle heat from jalapeño, served with crispy chips.

Ingredients

  • •1 piece salmon fillet
  • •¼ cup cucumber
  • •1 tablespoon lime juice
  • •1½ teaspoons chives
  • •1½ teaspoons cilantro
  • •1½ teaspoons grapeseed oil
  • •1½ teaspoons jalapeño
  • •1½ teaspoons shallot
  • •¾ teaspoon ginger
  • •¼ teaspoon lime zest
  • •½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • •to taste salt and pepper
  • •for serving chips

Cooking Instructions

    Place salmon on a plate; freeze until well chilled, about 20 minutes.

    Thinly slice salmon lengthwise into 1/8"-wide sheets. Cut each sheet into 1/8"-long strips. Cut strips crosswise into 1/8" cubes. Place salmon in a medium bowl. Add cucumber and the next 9 ingredients and toss to combine. Season tartare to taste with salt and pepper. Transfer tartare to a bowl and serve with chips.
