Warmed Spiced Olives

A Mediterranean-inspired appetizer of mixed olives warmed with aromatic fennel seeds, fresh lemon zest, bay leaves, and Aleppo pepper in olive oil. Perfect for entertaining or as part of an antipasti spread.

Ingredients

  • teaspoons fennel seeds
  • 6 strips lemon zest
  • 4 leaves dried bay leaves
  • pounds mixed unpitted olives
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Aleppo pepper

Cooking Instructions

    Toast fennel seeds in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add lemon zest, bay leaves, olives, oil, and Aleppo pepper and cook, stirring, until just warmed through, about 3 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl and serve warm.
