Glazed Root Vegetables

A delicious side dish of honey-glazed rutabagas and turnips, finished with fresh parsley. The root vegetables are cooked until tender in a buttery honey glaze that perfectly complements their earthy flavors.

Ingredients

  • cups water
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon coarse kosher salt
  • 2 medium rutabagas
  • 2 medium turnips
  • 2 tablespoons fresh Italian parsley

Cooking Instructions

    Bring 1 1/4 cups water, honey, butter, and 1 teaspoon coarse salt to boil in medium saucepan over high heat. Add rutabagas and return water to boil. Cook for 2 minutes; add turnips. Boil until water is reduced to glaze and vegetables are tender, stirring occasionally, about 7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Toss with parsley.
