Peppery Fig and Cider Compote
A luxurious blend of dried Mission figs simmered in apple cider with aromatic orange zest, bay leaf, and crushed black peppercorns. Perfect served warm or at room temperature alongside fresh ricotta.

- •8 ounces dried Mission figs, stemmed
- •1½ cups unfiltered apple cider
- •¼ cup sugar
- •3 strips orange zest
- •1 leaf Turkish bay leaf
- •1 teaspoon black peppercorns, crushed
- •to taste Fresh Ricotta
Cooking Instructions

Cut figs into 1-inch pieces. Boil cider with figs and remaining ingredients, uncovered, until it is slightly syrupy and figs are plump, about 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
