Cheesesteak Sliders

Classic Philly-style cheesesteak sandwiches made into smaller sliders using tender strips of top round beef, sautéed onions, peppers, and melted provolone cheese on whole wheat baguette portions.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • cups onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 whole green bell pepper
  • 12 ounces top round beef
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 ounces reduced-fat provolone
  • 1 whole whole-wheat baguette
  • 9 inches baguette length
  • 6 portions baguette portions

    In a large nonstick pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring, until soft, 2 to 3 minutes. Add bell pepper; cook until crisp-tender, 3 minutes. Move veggies to side of pan. Season beef with salt and black pepper; add to pan. Add Worcestershire and cook beef through, 3 minutes. Remove pan from heat; stir in cheese, mixing beef and veggies together. Divide mixture among bottom slices of bread; cover with top slices.
