Mozzarella Arrabiata Salsa

A spicy and fresh Italian pasta dish combining puréed and chopped tomatoes with fresh mozzarella, celery, and hot peppers in a vibrant arrabiata sauce. Perfect served over capellini pasta for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds tomatoes, divided
  • 1 whole fresh hot cherry pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
  • 6 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 rib celery
  • 1 pound fresh mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons celery leaves
  • 1 pound capellini
  • cooked and drained

Cooking Instructions

    Halve 1 pound tomatoes, then purée with cherry pepper (if using), red pepper flakes, oil, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a blender until smooth.
