Ceviche Clásico (Classic Ceviche)

A fresh and vibrant Peruvian seafood dish featuring white fish marinated in citrus juice with garlic, chile, and red onion. Served traditionally with corn and sweet potato, this ceviche is both refreshing and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets white fish fillets
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 teaspoons limo chile
  • 1 cup key lime or lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro leaves
  • 2 pieces ice cubes
  • 1 whole red onion
  • 1 to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 whole corncob
  • ½ whole sweet potato
  • boiled and sliced

Cooking Instructions

    Cut the fish into 3/4-inch cubes, place in a bowl, and season with salt and pepper. After 1 minute, add the garlic and limo chile. Mix together well.

    Pour over the lemon juice and add the chopped cilantro leaves and ice cubes. Stir and let stand for a few seconds. Add the red onion and remove the ice cubes. Mix together and adjust the seasoning to taste.
